Here are the pictures from the rest of China trip... ( all pics taken by me!)Sorry that it is a little picture heavy, I just couldn't not share any of them.
At the forbidden city, 8am. Ouch. It is the largest museum in the world, spanning over 700,000 square metres. Although I lived in China for 3 years I had never actually visited it before and I am so glad I finally did.
How amazing is this?
The forbidden skyline.
Bottom right corner...
All of these dragons are carved and on the wall of one of the courtyards, it looks much more impressive in real life and is huge.
If you head off the beaten track and head down a little alleyway you stumble across this massive theatre. We were literally the only ones here and I just cannot understand why, It is probably my favourite building in all of the forbidden city yet no one was there to see it! This is where the emperor would have plays and peking opera performed for him, it is amazing to imagine it is hundreds of years old.
Temple of heaven. This man (along with a dozen or so others) was doing some calligraphy on the pavement outside.
Temple of heaven, constructed entirely of wood and contains no bolts/screws whatsoever.
A couple having their wedding photos done.
Playing a board game. (not me!)
